Exclusive: the traditional Brussels mini Flower Carpet has landed in Mini-Europe

The day is finally here: Mini-Europe has rolled out its version of Brussels’ Flower Carpet in its mini Grand-Place! But you’ll have to wait until 16 August to see the real one.

Every two years, Brussels’ Grand Place is covered with a carpet of begonias, dahlias, tree bark and foliage measuring almost 1800 m². The theme of this year’s event, which runs from 16 to 18 August, will be Guanajuato, a Mexican region with a particularly rich floral culture and tradition.

“From today, visitors can enjoy a 1:25 scale version of the Flower Carpet in the Grand-Place of our mini Brussels. I’d like to thank the City of Brussels and the Brussels Flower Carpet association for letting us reproduce it. This partnership gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy even more the detailed Flower Carpet as a whole and lets us help develop tourism in Brussels”, says Thierry Meeùs, CEO of Mini-Europe.

Even if you aren’t able to visit the Grand-Place to admire the real carpet, you can still come and enjoy its scaled-down version in Mini-Europe. It will be exhibited for another two years until the next Flower Carpet gets unveiled.
